Dreamforce. It’s the must-attend tech conference of the year for anyone who’s anyone in the Salesforce Ecosystem. Salesforce hosted the first Dreamforce in 2003 with an attendance of 1,300 people. Ten years later, in 2013, Dreamforce was home to over 130,000 attendees, and this year, there’s talk of the event selling out with attendance closing in on 200,000. That’s almost twice as many people as those who call Aruba home. That’s some phenomenal growth! Dreamforce has had some amazing speakers over the years too. People like Michael Dell, George Lucas, Sheryl Sanberg, Gary Vaynerchuk, General Colin Powell (two different years,) and the list goes on and on. At Apttus we might define “celebrity” a little differently, so we came up with a few questions to ask each of our celebrities, and two of the questions do not have anything to do with Salesforce or Dreamforce!  So without further delay, allow us to introduce our next celebrity of Dreamforce 2016.

Celebrities of Dreamforce 2016: Introducing Apex and the Limits!

Our latest Dreamforce Celebrity for 2016 isn’t a celebrity at all, rather a group of celebrities. They first performed together in front of their fellow Salesforce MVPs at Dreamforce 2015, at the exclusive MVP appreciation party on the Dreamboat. After that event, Apex and the Limits realized they could use their musical talents to give something back to the Salesforce community…and the rest, as they say, is history. Now let’s meet the band!

Oh the memories!

Apttus: How many years have you attended Dreamforce?

Apex and the Limits:

This will be the first public appearance for the band at Dreamforce, but some of us have been attending for over 10 years. Let’s just say that some of us remember when “Custom Objects” were the big announcement at the conference.

Apttus: Out of all the speakers from last year, who has been your favorite Dreamforce Speaker?

Apex and the Limits:

One of the most exciting times at Dreamforce is the Marc’s opening keynote. The excitement built up around the future of the company provides an electric energy to the crowd. Of course all of the celebrities/politicians are great, but they aren’t the reason we attend.

Apttus: Which band was the most memorable?

Apex and the Limits:

      We haven’t played yet ….  🙂
Businesses should use all of their assets—their equity, their capital, their people, their relationships—to serve as a force for good in the world. – Marc Benioff
If I Could Only…

Apttus: If you could ask Marc Benioff one question, what would it be?

Apex and the Limits:

Well Marc is our agent, so let’s go with, “Marc, we would really like to see the green M&Ms in martini glasses in the green room. Can we make this happen?” In all seriousness, at this point we are just enjoying each day! We do want to see you all more often though, so maybe Marc can help us out with a travel budget!

Apttus: What is the number one thing on your bucket list?

Apex and the Limits:

Well the band only publicly launched in December 2015, so we think that we are a little young to have a bucket list. However, let’s go with our goal. We would love to be able to record an iTunes album in a professional studio for the community.

Apttus: Has anyone ever asked you for your autograph?

Apex and the Limits:

Yes and people want pictures! We even had our first star struck encounter with a fan. It was really crazy for us, because we don’t think of ourselves as anything other than a group of people having fun. Want to talk process builder? Code? You’ll captivate us quickly!
Dreamforce – Past and Present

Apttus: What is your best Dreamforce memory?

Apex and the Limits:

Let’s just say, the best is yet to come.

Apttus: What are you most excited about going into Dreamforce 2016?

Apex and the Limits:

We are excited to meet more of our #groupies in person and seeing what happens next. Tweet us up, let’s take pictures and publish them. See you soon!
