bio_kirk-krappeKirk Krappe is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Apttus. He is a visionary entrepreneur, innovator, technologist, author, and frequent speaker.

Kirk has been involved in developing and delivering the first instances of online enterprise applications. Along the way, his experience marketing and selling enterprise software led him to a massive untapped market opportunity. In 2006, Kirk started Apttus to create the advent of what he coins the “middle office.” In this space he created a platform that eliminates the disjointed, inefficient nature of enterprises’ most important business processes – revenue generation and management of commercial relationships. Under his leadership, Apttus has evolved the Middle Office space by automating, synergizing, and applying artificial intelligence across the entire Quote-to- Cash spectrum. Kirk and Apttus’ efforts have created a market opportunity that, according to industry analysts, eclipses respective front-office CRM and back- office ERP marketplaces by billions of dollars.

Kirk has received many awards and recognition for a variety of achievements. These include technology innovation for hybrid cloud models and applied artificial intelligence to corporate success involving business growth and industry leadership. Kirk has filed 13 patents. He has been a finalist for the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. He has been recognized by Forbes, Deloitte, Red Herring, Silicon Valley Business Journal, CODiE, and Stevie Awards programs. He and Apttus are regularly featured on watchlists including Silicon Review’s 50 Most Innovative Companies and CNBC’s Disruptor 50. Kirk also wrote an Amazon Bestseller, Intelligent Quote to Cash.

Prior to Apttus, Kirk was Executive Vice President of Worldwide Markets at iMANY. He was CEO of Nextance. Kirk was also Senior Vice President at Corio through its IPO where he pioneered the original concept of Application Service Providers before it became mainstream. Earlier in his career he was Vice President of Solutions Marketing at Oracle and Vice President of Industry Solutions at Siebel Systems. He has an electrical and mechanical engineering degree from the University of London and a MBA from INSEAD, the world’s No.1-rated business school. When he is not innovating or evolving the Middle Office space, Kirk can be found pulling oars through nearby waterways via his lifelong passion of rowing.
