Dreamforce – the annual Salesforce User Conference. It’s a big deal. Scratch that. It’s a HUGE deal! For attendees, it means seeing the latest and greatest features of the platform; getting a glimpse into what’s coming in the future; getting to interact, face-to-face with other members of the Salesforce Community, and getting inspired to make a difference from great speakers.
Salesforce has announced the first round of featured speakers.
Former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama was recently added to the speaker line-up for Dreamforce. Mrs. Obama launched and led four key initiatives during her time as the First Lady of the United States:
- Let’s Move! – Designed to address the challenge of childhood obesity.
- Joining Forces – Aimed at providing support to veterans, service members and their families.
- Reach Higher – Designed to inspire young people to seek higher education.
- Let Girls Learn – Built to help adolescent girls around the world go to school.
In addition to Former First Lady, Michelle Obama, several other well-known speakers have been announced:
Benioff, Chairman and CEO of Salesforce, almost needs no introduction to the the attendees at Dreamforce, and it just wouldn’t be Dreamforce is Benioff didn’t speak. When he started Salesforce, Benioff also created the 1-1-1 model of philanthropy, which leverages the resources of Salesforce to improve communities world wide: donating 1% of Salesforce’s product, 1% of it’s equity and 1% of employees time to help nonprofits achieve their missions. Since its founding in 1999, the 1-1-1 model has been adopted by over 3,000 other companies through the Pledge 1% movement.
Acevedo, currently CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA). Prior to being named CEO, Acevedo served on the Board of Directors of the GSUSA for 7 years. She is a living testament to overcoming adversity, and personally experiencing the power of transformation that Girl Scouting can bring. Sylvia has received numerous awards throughout her career, which began at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory after she was the first Hispanic student, male or female, to earn a graduate degree from Stanford University. She brings to her role as CEO, a vast background in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
Barbara Pierce Bush:
Barbara, co-founder and president of Global Health Corps (GHC), was united with her co-founders by the belief that health is a human right and that their generation must build the world where this is realized. Since it’s founding in 2009, GHC has mobilized a global community of young leaders to push forward the movement for health equity, and have placed more than 700 young leaders on the front lines in Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania and several other countries, helping to develop creative, compassionate and effective change makers.
Actor, entrepreneur, producer and tech investor, Ashton was named one of Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World” as well as being named one of Fast Company magazine’s “Most Creative People.” Kutcher has founded or co-founded, two venture funds and made investments in such companies as Spotify, Nextdoor, Zenreach and more. He is also the co-founder of Thorn: Digital Defenders of Children. Thorn drives technology innovation to combat predatory behavior, accelerate victim identification and protect vulnerable children.
Contributing corespondent on NBC’s Today Show and Editor-At-Large for Southern Living magazine, Jenna is also the author of The New York Times best seller “Ana’s Story: A Journey of Hope,” which she wrote after traveling to Latin America in 2006 as an intern with UNICEF. Ana’s Story is based on the life of a 17-year-old single mother with HIV, struggling to shield her child from the life she had of abuse and neglect. Jenna is also the daughter of former U.S. President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush.
