The idea of taking the time to sit down with the new sales book of the month, to digest the recent trends and learn new skills, is pretty unrealistic for many sales professionals – there is simply not enough time in the day. While you may not have the time at home, you do have the time on your morning commute, your morning run, etc. – time that is not used to its fullest potential.
This is where a podcast comes in. The greatest thing about this form of communication is the ability to listen anywhere, at any time – all you need are headphones, and a smart phone to plug them into. Instead of listening to mindless talk radio, why not use your morning commute to learn the newest trends in social selling, or the latest breakthroughs in productivity.

Consistently ranked as the top business podcast on iTunes, the Tim Ferriss show is hosted by the world famous author of The 4 Hour Work Week, Tim Ferriss. If you have ever listened to NPR on the commute home from work, chances are that you have caught the Marketplace report at 6:30 PM PT. While the 30 minute time slot may not provide you with immediate takeaways to be applied, it does provide interesting stories and examples of how economic and business news affects people like you.
