The past year has been a big year for women: 104 women now hold seats in U.S. Congress; women outpaced men at the Rio Olympics by bringing home more Olympic medals than their male counterparts (61 to be exact!); and Salesforce made headlines with their tenacious stance against the discriminatory legislations in Indianapolis and Georgia as well as their commitment to Equal Pay for Women. Gender equality is a hot topic around the world, and slowly but pervasively becoming a major point of discussion in Silicon Valley and the rest of the tech world.
And where else would you go in the heart of Silicon Valley to discuss, connect and learn about news and innovations other than Dreamforce – the world’s largest software conference on earth! Aside from the much-anticipated Benioff keynote, all the new Artificial Intelligence announcements and U2 at the Cloud Palace, this year’s Dreamforce will also host the second annual Women’s Leadership Summit on October 6th! At this year’s Summit, Salesforce is stepping up their game by hosting an amazing lineup of speakers – think Billie Jean King the sports icon and humanitarian, Patricia Arquette the Academy Award winner and activist, and Rep. John Lewis the representative of the 5th Congressional District of George and Civil Rights leader. Dreamforce is the perfect platform to ignite change in the tech industry and set up women as tech leaders for years to come! To continue your journey to become a leader in the tech industry, join me at these events hosted by women, for women!

Inspiring Women Around the World to be Leaders is this year’s theme for PWC’s Women in Technology Panel that will be held at the Children’s Creativity Museum from 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 6th. Learn from PWC’s inspiring panel of professional women as they share how they have advanced into leadership roles and gained reputations for delivering results so you can become a leader, no matter where in the world you are.
Who doesn’t love talking with fellow women in Sales Ops over coffee, croissants and fruit? Start your day with a complimentary breakfast hosted by Clari on Thursday, October 6th, from 8:00 – 10:00 AM at Bain Capital Ventures. Update: This event is now SOLD OUT!
For the first time ever, The Girls Lounge will be at Dreamforce, thanks to Appirio! On October 5th and 6th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Appirio’s San Francisco office will host The Girls Lounge which will be open to anyone with a Dreamforce badge – both women and men! Lounge spaces are meant to foster new ideas and spark action around diversity and leadership while creating a new culture for tomorrow’s leaders.
OpenLounge is hosting a super-star panel of emerging talent – across sales, marketing and operations – who will share their stories and advice on their fast track of career growth. These “up and comers” from companies like Salesforce, Uber, Gainsight and Terminus will tackle trending topics about gender diversity in the tech industry and inspire women to think outside of solely technical roles.
On Tuesday, October 4th, starting at 8:00 AM, Pardot will transform The Grove into The B2B Marketers Café! Hosts Jillian Mansolf (CMO, Xirrus Wi-Fi), Shannon Duffy (SVP of Marketing, Salesforce) and Kimberly Seabrook (AVP of Sales, Salesforce) will share their personal journeys to becoming leaders in their fields, and thoughts on how women can successfully drive and manage their careers.
With all the commotion and craziness of Dreamforce, make sure you set aside time to bond with your fellow women in tech, share some laughs, eat some food and drink some wine – I’d be happy to share a bottle anytime. Tweet me at @InboundMarketer with which women in tech event you’ll be attending, and I’ll be sure to save you a glass!
